Nigel Rukuwai

As the Principal Adviser and Managing Director of Wealthpoint Nelson, I love my dual role of listening to and looking after my clients as well as overseeing the strategic management of a business. I have performed varying management roles in the Financial Services industry since 1985 and became a Financial Adviser in 2003. I have an MBA from Canterbury University, am an Associate of the insurance Institute, a Financial Adviser and a current Director of Wealthpoint Ltd, our New Zealand Co-operative.

My areas of focus are Life, Trauma and Income covers along with Group Health & Business insurance and retirement planning. I also help a number of businesses with Key Person and Share Purchase insurance. My Philosophy on insurance is “having the right insurance, at the right time, for the right people”. I have worked with enough clients to have become an insurance advocate – a believer in how insurance protects families and businesses. I make insurance relevant to peoples’ lives and help them fully understand the reasons why they have it.

When I am not working I love the garden, any DIY project assigned to me requiring a visit to Bunnings, reading, mountain biking, travel and hanging with my girls.
