Justin MacKay

I joined Mainland Insurance, Mortgages, and Investments in February 2016 and now specialise in General Insurance and Investments. Earlier in my career, I also advised on life insurance and residential lending; however, as our adviser business grew in depth and capability, I made the decision to refocus my practice on the areas that best play to my strengths and that I believe are often underserved in our local community when it comes to genuine, one-to-one advice.

I hold the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services across all advice fields and take a practical, solutions-focused approach to helping clients protect their assets, manage risk, and build long-term financial security. With nearly a decade in financial services, I place a strong emphasis on clear communication, sound judgement, and advice tailored to each client’s needs and budget — skills shaped by my previous decades of experience in customer-facing roles within the telecommunications industry.

Outside of work, I’m an avid motorcyclist. These days, much of my time away from the office is spent with my young family, which has further reinforced the importance I place on sound financial planning and protection.
